Honda Accord

- THE SPECS:

Honda Automobiles (Thailand) has announced prices for its facelifted Accord due to make its public debut at Motor Expo at the end of this month. The update mid-sized family saloon comes with tweaked looks and more equipment for certain versions. The 2.0-litre model, for instance, now has sat-nav to choose from. Prices range from B1.265-1.42m for 2.0, B1.547-1.687m for 2.4 and B2.94m for 3.5.
 - WE THINK: The Accord sells well in Thailand, so the update is very minor explaining why there are no mechanical changes to any of the versions. As ever, Honda has raised prices fractionally, with the exception of the most basic 2.0.
 - OR TRY THIS: Go hybrid with the Toyota Camry costing between B1.599-1.779m. Or try downsizing to the Prius priced from B1.249-1.319m. Something good such as these don't come easily.

Mini Countryman Cooper D

V-Speed Auto Import, an independent importer, is selling the Mini Countryman Cooper D at B3.59m. Mini's first five-door crossover comes with a 110hp 1.6-litre turbo-diesel, six-speed manual gearbox, four-wheel-drive, brake energy regeneration and automatic stop/start technologies. The Countryman V-Speed is importing comes with a three-seat rear bench, not the funkier two-seat variation.
- THE SPECS:
 - WE THINK: V-Speed apparently tried to diversify with diesel power and emission-reducing systems _ first for Mini in Thailand. Now, that's only if you live with the manual gearshift.
 - OR TRY THIS: If a Mini is a must for you, wait for the official imminent introduction by Mini Thailand. If not, see if the Nissan Juke can attract you with its basic petrol power but lower B1.99m offered in the grey market, too.
